Frenching the toast

A good breakfast can honestly save lives. Bonus points if it is not only delicious, but easy to make. I like easy. My French toast recipe checks them all. Here's a little secret just for my readers, use unsliced bread to come up with thicker slices than the regular sliced bread. The results are so much better!


French Toast Recipe (makes 3 slices)

Ingredients

  1. Unsliced bread enough for 3 slices

  2. 1 large egg

  3. 3/4 Tbsp. of sugar or to taste

  4. A pinch of salt

  5. A drizzle of water

  6. Oil for frying

Method

  1. Beat the egg, sugar, salt and water in a plate until well combined.

  2. Slice your bread into 3/4 inch slices.

  3. Dip your bread in the wet mixture to coat both sides and shake off the excess.

  4. Fry both sides using a little oil (I use 1 Tbsp. for each slice on a non stick pan).

  5. Serve and enjoy!
