So another 4200 graduates are being added into these festered waters. I'm no prophet of doom but, brace yourselves. It will be messy, and it will be hard.
You will leave with high expectations at the beginning and slowly lose hope as your journey progresses. I wish someone had told me this earlier so I could tame my entitlement but luckily, you have me.
Take heart though, sometimes the sun will shine. We survived and continue to do so somehow, and so will you.
However, you have been given the power to read and write which many instead understand as the power to employment. I never realized the value of this power until I could do things no ordinary person could do. I stood out in a crowd of people trying to lynch someone, I stood out in a group of people watching resources waste away and I stood out whenever I noticed something wrong in my area of expertise.
Education is so powerful a weapon, that it can change the course of a nation. So trust me, you did not leave empty handed.
